Amelia's first Christmas

I am now 3 months old, weighing in at 2.5 pounds as of December 19th. I enjoy racing around my new home and climbing on every surface I can especially with my claws. Sallie is trying to be disciplined and moves whenever I swat at her. I don't know why, I just want to play.

I also enjoy terrorizing Norm, who is a 13 yr old cat living next door. He has cool toys to play with.

Sallie says, "Norm is facinated, but irritated that this little scrappy kitten is invading his space."

I spent Christmas with my feline cousin, Beranger, in South Carolina, but he just didn't get it. He kept trying to eat my food, pounce on me, and play, but the more I swatted at him, the more he was confused. My aunt Melanie had to separate us for the weekend. The car ride to SC was long and boring! I did not like being cooped up in my carrier for 8 hours. I even tried to play Houdini and slip out of my carrier, but Sallie figured it out early in the ride.

Here are a few photos that Sallie took of me dressed up for the family photo (how humiliating)! Claws don't seem to be helpful in a time of picture taking.....

Amelia comes home to Virginia

Many of you know that I was adopted by Sallie on November 13, 2006.

Friends Casey and Doug found me outside of their house in Atlanta; cold, hungry, and rieking of a skunk I happened to come across in the wild. Pepe la pew!

During the weekend of November 11th, I took a road trip with Sallie and friends to a cabin in the woods. Casey was hoping to find me a home.

Well, I guess I suckered Sallie into it by the end of the weekend. My name, Amelia, came from Amelia Earhart. You see, I figured out how to climb the stairs to a loft area where I, unintentionally, took a flying leap off of the second story to land on the hard wood floor below. I was shocked and scared, but survived. Since I took my first solo flight at 5 weeks old, Amelia was born.

My third adventure was in my first airplane on Sunday with a new carrying case, a bag of litter, food, and a toy to move to my new home in Arlington, VA.

The adventure continues....
